| Re: T2 Random problems Lloyd Olson 23:55:08 |
| | Switch matrix issue. Somewhere on the switch matrix ( look in your manual and in the game at all the switches ) you have a problem. Most likely is a diode on backwards. Or switch wired wrong, or switch diode/lugs/wires shorted together. Case of one switch triggering others. Start digging, look for shorts to wiring too, and inside top of coin door hitting anything on unerside of playfield front. LTG

I just had a game of T2 where it says I am tilting but have not even moved the game. Everything looks normal, I reseated the connectors and it still happens. A pop bumper will randomly fire, I will get tilt warnings, and the shooter will work on its own sometimes. Any thoughts?

Take 80 to 355 north. 355 turns into 53 near woodfield mall. This way will bypass all the 294 BS. It might be 5 miles longer but no Construction. 294 from IN is good there is one area of road work but it is not that bad but do get off at river road as the next part gets real bad at times.
Lake cook is under at lot of road work at I-294 / I-94.
From I-94 stay on us 41 to get to lake cook or take Dundee.
If you take I-53 get off at palatine rd.

| part question for swep1 pinball 2000 neon Wolfus 22:43:27 |
| | Does anybody know if the CV neon transformer is the same as the SWep1 neon transformer? I see Bayarea carries the CV but doe not mention that it works for the pin2000. I have tested the tube on a regular neon transformer and it works. I also have just over 12v(13-14v) at the connector to the tube. There is no mosfet or other transistor that drives this. It's done straight out of a Uln2803? Brn/wht wire traced all the way and compared to the schematics. so I deduce it needs the transformer. any help greatly appreciated. virtual beer coming to all responders. Timathie CARGP15

| | The parking lot is huge. I wouldn't worry at all about getting many trailers in there. There is parking on 3 sides of the hotel.

I don't think so, I am a bit worried about the parking. With all the people with Trailers and big mammoth trucks. This is a much bigger hotel than the one from previous Expos but the parking lot look a bit insufficient to me... We can only hope it's enough and they are ready to handle this crazy crowd. The convention facilities are deffinatly a lot larger than the Wydhams and brand new so I think it will be ok. Also if the bar gets too crazy crowded there are two restaurants in the parking lot with bars and a brewery right across the street as well as a couple others within a block.

| Re: Deliverying a game from USA to Canada What to Expect?? Tim Iskander 20:16:24 |
| | James, I took a STTNG over to Canada and had to present the bill of sale and pay the tax on it (I don't remember the amounts, but it was non-trival). You can always try and BS your way through, but I would not want to get caught with my pants down messing with customs (in either side). The buyer in my deal took care of all the details and let me know exactly what to expect. Not a big deal, because I had all the requisite paperwork. The customs officer did not seem to have a real big sense of humor and they all have computers right there to verify declared values if they want to. I went up and crossed over on 81 (Wellsly Island)
cheers /Tim

Stupidly, I left my tape measure at work. Using deductive reasoning (AKA some sheets of paper), they are about 20" wide, unfortunately. Definitely beyond the 17" barrier. Sorry I'd still suggest looking into getting one, as I think these machines are a real blast to play and are completely different. They are definitely less skilled then pinball, but they sure are fun, especially for how cheap you can get them!
Thanks! I'll see if I can shuffle a thing or two to squeeze a few more inches.

| Re: TECH EM: Pro-Pool Ball Return Gott Lieb? 17:39:56 |
| | I would start by removing the lower apron to see if it is "trying" to kick the ball. It could be a mechanical or an electrical issue. Read within this recent thread for some insight - http://groups.google.com/group/rec.games.pinball/browse_thread/thread/8864088ddc6108d0/521e050a24973174

Hello. My family has put alot of games on my Gottlieb Pro-Pool since the chime problem was fixed. I've got a slight but annoying problem now. Every couple of games, when a ball drains, instead of immediately pushing it back up to the shooter, it makes noise like its going to, nothing happens, then it makes its noise again as the score motor turns and it pushes it up like its supposed to. Any clues? Ball return relay, or ? The thing is- like usual, it seems, the problem is not consistent. Thanks- Harold |

| Re: Sys 80 bootup issue Dan Beck 17:00:39 |
| | Hi Taylor,
I would first check the integrity of your solder work on Z3; hopefully you used a socket! Next, I would check continuities of ALL the traces of Z2, Z3, and the crystal, including the trace to U1. Concluding, I would check the traces from the TC1, slot 15, to pin 39 on U4, U5, and U6. TC1 is the black module on the top of the cpu board; the numbers are usually embossed on it, but are very small!
Regards, Dan

Hello-- Working on a panthera sys 80 machine, have gotten past the power supply and am now to the cpu board. The board itself is clean, so I started going through clay's guide. The first part passes, I get 4.5 volts at pin 40 of U1 (I've replaced this chip btw). So I moved to the 2nd part, trying to get a clock signal on pin 37 of U1. I checked Z3, and I was getting clock signal on pins 1 to 5--however, pin 6 was not. As a result, I replaced Z3--no change though in operation. My next thought was to replace Z2, but before I do that, is there something else I should be looking at as a culprit? Thanks! Taylor34

| Bring you Sick and Tired WPC Driver Boards to Expo Jim Knight 16:44:30 |
| | Open "Free" offer to run your Williams WPC Driver boards through our "portable" test fixture during PinExpo this year. This fixture does a pretty good job of testing basic functionality of all Coil Drivers, Lamp Drivers, GI Lighting and all power supplies.
Bring your board to the Rottendog booth at the show and I will be happy to test your board for you, provide my opinion of what needs to be fixed, etc; However, I will not be set up to do repairs (nor do we do normally do repairs). Also, if your board tends to blow fuses, you will need to bring your own to sacrifice!

Looking at the display power board i can see where 16v enters but no 12v exits , it seems that there are parts missing , but i know that is not the case , where does the display get its 12volts? it says it comes off pin cn2 pin7 but when i trace it back it goes nowhere , schematics dont show anything. Stern games haven't produced +12 volts for the DMD for some years. This even went back to the Sega days when CES stopped stuffing the +12v supply components on the DMD linear supply.
With Vishay displays, the +12v is generated on the DMD itself.
