Add-a-ball games (at least Gottliebs) did not have a total play meter, simply because the amount of games played was equal to the amount of money in the cash box. Remember, no replays with aab's, therefore no need to adjust game parameters to make them easier or more difficult based on total games vs. $$ collected. All that aside, I do wish my aab's did have total play meters.

Interesting.
The wire connections are present and
are shown on the schematics with a
dashed line.
There are even (2) pilot holes in the
bottom board to screw down the counter.
The holes have not been used and there are
no indents on the board to indicate that a
counter was ever installed.

Need a Total Play Meter for a Gottlieb EM.
When I got my Capt. Card this year it was missing the counter.
It did not ship from the factory with a counter. (I bought a Capt. Card
new back when I was an operator.) You'll need to find a suitable place
to make the connections. Ideally, you would add a pair of contacts to

I would have preferred to have some way to measure the extra ball "payout" because there was a need to adjust game parameters for total play time vs. $$. The game did ship with several score cards, as if the op would somehow decide to raise/lower the scores ("Scoring xx,000 adds one ball") based on some form of feedback. -- ................David Marston at MV
