I like how kyle talks about waynes MM as if it was actually being made and parts were even considered. That's an optimistic statement if i've ever heard one. I have a long history of optimism when it comes to anything that Wayne has promised.
You know, I haven't reached my self-imposed moratorium limit to where I can begin hassling Wayne again as to where the games are. But there is something really special about being identified at Expo as "that Wayne hater" or "Wayne's #1 fan". Because people with insider information will come up and share with me what is really going on with that project. Suffice it to say all of my assumptions are holding so far on that deal. Unfortunately for the folks that continue to trust that Wayne is going to fulfill their dreams of a new machine...

hey RGP, Hey i'm Jack. I'm 13 and I love pinball. My Dad collects the games and we work on them toghether. I was at Expo this year and it was awesome. I was that kid with the green collared shirt playing every game he could, especially that Big Bang Bar. I got to meet a lot of people, even Pacak, a nice treat! Ive been on RGP a while but I never really posted anything until now. I mostly like the newer games and 60s wedgeheads. I just finished a whirlwind (WW) restoration all by myself, with a LITTLE help from my Dad . This game plays like a monster. I only have one game but im planning on getting a few more once I get some good grades. The games ill be interested in the future are Funhouse ,NBA fastbreak, Jack-bot, Johnny Mnemonic,Earthshaker, High Speed 2, and a Shrek eventually. Thats all I have to say for now. Jack

| | falconfixer86261@yahoo.com wrote:
Normally flipper bushings aren't that hard to remove - especially on GTB's that have screws holding them to the bottom of the playfield. But on WMS EM's they have the threaded nails and on occasion I've had to beat them out and had the flanges break. Well this weekend I was working on my Grand Prix restoration and got to the bushings and man were they tight. So having been an aircraft and car mechanic for way too many decades I decided to make a puller. Well, really I just put some stuff together and made a puller, but it worked beautifully. I used a 1/4" -20 x 2 1/2 (longer screws will work too) round slotted head screw with nut, 1 washer, and a 32 mm socket. I put the screw through the bushing so that the head was on the flipper side of the bushing. This particular size of screw has the same head diameter as the bushing which is really important if you don't want to gouge your playfield. Then I placed the socket over the coil side of the bushing. The socket needs to be just big enough for the bushing to fit up into the socket as it's pulled. The screw should now be protruding though the square drive on the socket. Then put the washer on and thread the nut. Tighten the nut and the bushing will pull straight out and the whole thing will just fall into your hand once it's released. I took pictures of the whole process but it's not rocket science. Just thought I'd share because it was so easy to make and even easier to pull some stubborn bushings. Dave My process is to first loosen the nut on the T-bolt a few turns, then simply thread on a couple of extra nuts to the remaining shaft sticking out the underside of the table, put my Excelite nut driver on it, and gently tap the end of the Excelite driver until the nuts are flush, remove one nut, unscrew the remaining ones a few turns, tap again, repeat as needed. Takes a minute per bolt...and the nuts are always on hand.

OK, I'm not saying they always should be on the ball about every update...but let's take Batman. 0.6 sucks. It's like having an early prototype in the arcade. I don't think it's unreasonable for me to want to play the fully functioning game. If they put in 2.2, and 4.0 came out tomorrow...I'd be happy about at least having the 2.2 in there. You know, my Dad is a small time operator himself. He is also not a technology guy at all. It is certainly possible that your operator has no idea about how to update his games. In fact given that they all seem to be running production shipping versions of code it is extremely likely that he doesn't.
You might call the number and offer to meet the coin box cleaner outer guy and perform the update for them while he is there? There would be a slight risk if the update failed, but they might appreciate the effort, and you would get to play an updated game in return.
I know if we had locations in Cincinnati that offered a game lineup like that I would be willing to support them like that. Unfortunately pinball is dead here, there seems to be no hope of saving it since it already left town.

Thanks -V You don't need System 11 parts specifically; what you need are the parts from practically any 3 ball Williams (or a Bally by Williams) made AFTER Firepower, all the way into WPC era til the end of the Fliptronics games; around DCS era is when the opto trough came into play.
A 3 ball trough plate will have 2 micro switches. The ball 1 switch is a submicro, and mounted separately as you can see from my pic. If you buy used parts, do yourself a favor and replace the submicro as these don't have near the lifespan a regular micro has.

Starting (finally) on my King of Diamonds restore and while disassembling I discovered the playfield inks are more faded than I though, at least in one color. I thought that the beige inks in the two lower side areas were correct. Not! When I removed the wood ball guide rail, nailed in from the bottom by the way, I discovered the correct color is a sort of pink! So, ok. That's gonna be a lot more work but I do like to be accurate wherever possible. I searched the net for good pictures to see if I could find a pink playfield and nada! I even figured Herb Silvers must have discovered the same thing when he made his KoD overlay. Surely he would have made it with the correct colors. Nope! At least not that I can tell from his web page pics. So now my dilemma. Do I do like others and leave it beige or match and restore to the original pinkish color and have the only one that stands out this way? Does anyone have, or have pics of a KoD/DJ nos playfield? What would you do? Here are two pics showing what I mean. Although not quite as clearly pictured you can also see the pink under where a post was as well.

Or how about a small video instruction card? Apps across all modern pins, play LOTR movie in attract mode on LOTR, Endless apps, sopranos, indy, elvis? Have elvis wired for sound in attract mode playing jailhouse rock on the instruction card.

| My view of Pacific Pinball Expo Fuey 17:25:22 |
| | I attended today, and I was amazed at the sheer number of machines that were there. Definitely more older machines than anything else, and the woodrail collection was mind blowing. I was able to walk right up and play any of the older machines pretty much whenever I wanted to; as the day wore on the majority of the folks were playing the modern machines. The seminars were very well attended, and there was a PA system to announce who was speaking and when the talks would start...very helpful. There was quite the line for the food concession, and the on-site masseuse for a $1 a minute was a great touch (no pun intended). Many people checked out the transparent pinball, and there was always someone playing it. Tournaments were to be had, and were well participated. My only wish that could have made things even better was to have more vendors. I was expecting BAA to be there, and I had money to spend, but alas...PinBits had a small display, and that's about it...other than the Expo booth selling tees, and Pinball Revival with their cool shirt and goodie set-up. I got to see Cliffy and his restored machine...played it too...great job! Overall I feel the show lived up to the hype and advertisements...great job and many thanks to all who helped put on the show.
Can't wait for PinAGoGo!

Who's going to play it while it's in a state of flux when you're gone? Oh, I'm sure Sonia will sneak downstairs and play a game (NOT!) It's like having the house in order before you leave on a trip....
One question for you. What player lights are on when you start a single player game? This of course is when your coin unit wiper is installed. Just the first player light. I've watched the coin unit when you start a game, it only resets, and does not pulse up. If you add players, the 2, 3, and 4 lights come up like they should, and the game plays correctly. ie, a 2 player game gives you only a 2 player game. That's why this problem seems so odd to me - clearly there's something amiss. I'm assuming that the "add player unit" is the coil that pulses for multiple players, so I've been looking at all the switches that are involved in that circuit. One that I have to revisit is the 2 score reels that I adjusted in the first place...... maybe a 9s or zero switch could cause this, as they are in the circuit for the add player unit.....
One other thing, and I'm not certain if this fouls up the amount of players or not. There should be a solder eyelet attached to the coin unit step up coil frame. Is there a wire attached to the eyelet? That I'll have to check.....
BTW, did you get the outhole problem fixed, or did this new two player game issue trump that problem? Yeah, the new problem is taking precedence over that problem - you're right on that though, it does hit the apron (there's a big mark where it does on the underside). I will probably implement Steve's fix when I get the 2 player bug worked out.

In the main ballroom of free play machines, there are 70 pins. Of them, 17 are down (turned off or partially broken down). This does not count the games in the vendor's ballroom. Most are off for the night but a some are on. The Marco ones are on but you have to pay for a one ball game. These are for an all money back tournament. I am not counting the Flip-Out Tournament games which are on free play for the night. There are Seven working Batman TDK's and one Shrek. There were eight Batman TDK's for the tournament earlier. However, one had ball trough issues at 2:00 pm. Chas from Stern replaced the trough assembly and the game was working. After the Gomez speech, I noticed the earlier problem TDK is now gone.
