Very dubious reporting. The "quote" is actually attributed to Xbox 365 (the hosting website) and not Pete Hines.
What he does say is the next paragraph is a flat denial of their "quote".
So they have made up a story out of whole cloth and are trying to dress it up to make it look like Pete said something, which he actually denies.

To be honest it was fairly small and disappointing, but I loved the unconvincing "Moo" sounds. Obviously recorded by members of the development team after a particularly good office party

| FO3 & PS3 Diane P. 06:36:13 |
| | Look, I have never played a game on a console much less an RPG, but here's the deal.
We have bought a 52" inch LCD and have decided to get a PS3 to act as our blu-ray player. It's a very popular alternative to stand-alone blu-ray players, at least on some of the a/v websites and the folks who have home theater setups with large screen TV's.
Now, I'm thinking if I buy FO3, can someone give me some insight as to how the experience will differ console v. pc? Visually, seeing it on such a large screen..that's obvious, but I've read here about poor ports from PC to console and console to pc. Will the rpg elements suffer playing the game on a PS3?
I know that some of you here have played some CRPG's on console and could share some insight. Thanks.
D.

I feel much better now after reading this Fallout 3 report I'm not alone! It's surprising how exactly the same I feel about those type of games. Because of so many people saying Fallout 1 and 2 were the best RPGs ever, I got them a few months ago. I kinda forced myself to finish Fallout 1, but just couldn't finish Fallout 2. It's just an uneasy feeling in this type of games, of not knowing what to do, am I doing the right thing by going to town A instead of B? or in just moving around without a specific reason to. I just don't like that. Guess it's a reason why I didn't like games like the Gothics (well, the 1 and 2 I just hated the interface). I did enjoy Oblivion, but never really went anywhere that I didn't need to. If I got a quest to go to point C, I'd go there, do what I needed to do and went back. Never really looked around, and the few times I did, when I saw a cave unrelated to anything, I felt dumbstruck... 'should I go in? What if I shouldn't? Nobody said anything about this cave!'. It's not really the same as only liking those JRPG games where you just follow a story. I just need reasons to do stuff. Guess I'm not really the explorer type. I've found that I tend to enjoy games that fall more into the "sandbox" variety that ones that run on rails. I would rather take my time, do other side quests, explore, or whatever else I choose whenever I choose. When it's "go here, start mission 1, now go here, start mission 2, etc." until the end, I tend to get bored and frustrated. If I get bored in a sandbox game, it's my own fault, and I start looking for things to do.
I also tend to dislike constant intrusive pointers and reminders towards missions, I would rather actually listen to the dialog and glean the information about what I am supposed to do from that (kind of like you would in real life). That's why I rather liked Fallout 1&2, they just released you into the wide world and said "find a way to do this" and you had to explore and find a way to make it happen - again, rather like real life. You had to be intuitive and pay a bit of attention, and there were often multiple ways to get things done, which is another advantage to a true sandbox game.
As you stated with your like of Oblivion, you don't need to have a game on rails to play the game like it's on rails, you chose to just hit missions one after another. But you also had the flexibility to do whatever you wanted in between, which makes that experience appeal to a much wider audience.

NOOO ! no ...that black screen install situation lasts around 40 minutes (maybe more) where apparently nothing is happening as the installer patches the files to enhanced version. Just wait till it finishes ...yes really 40 plus mins. (\__/) (='.'=) (")_(") mouse

When the start a new game screen came up there was now an option to play a "New Adventure" I don't remember seeing that when I first started playing the game. So I loaded it up and it's the "The Price of Neutrality" level. I never installed this. I have it along with "Side Effects" that I DL'ed when I got the 1.4 patch. What gives? Was it part of the 1.3 patch and I just didn't notice it? TIA, JLC Yup. The 1.4 version adds speech that wasn't in the original 1.3 release:

| LOTRO: Crafting system is confusing me Mike S . 17:09:25 |
| | Ok. My explanation is bit involved so I would rather ask here then in game. Hopefully someone can help.
I took Armsman. That means I get prospector, woodworking and weaponsmithing. As a prospector I started at 0/200. When I hit 200/200 the bar was replaced with a new bar set at 0/400 and a new Journeyman bar opened up at 0/280 with new recipes. Ok so far.
My weaponsmith bar also started at 0/200. But when it hit 200/200 it just stayed there. So basically I have my weaponsmithing stuck at 200/200. Where do I go from here as far as weaponsmithing goes?

After this you will not have any questions what you should to do (in general sence). MM9 was built on very strong plot - rather unusual thing for the series.
The game is getting better and better, so give it a real try. It is true M&M though somewhat unusual.

And yes, it's stupid but sometimes I discover an unexpected gem.

I also loved the Cut scene at the end of the prologue of Force Unleashed.
As for other intros off the top of my head.

For all the cries of doom from developers and publishers about how piracy is making them move away from PC gaming, it's sort of funny (in a sort of bad way) that Fallout 3 leaked to the Xbox 360 already according to some reports. Piracy is a lot worse on the consoles than is generally reported, but it's still isolated to people with the technical ability to pull it off. Any kid with a torrent client and a keygen executable can pirate PC software, but it takes somebody with a PIC writer and an SMD soldering station to get an equivalent result on an Xbox 360. It should surprise nobody on this group that the X86 architecture of the original Xbox led to a lot of piracy there too. The trick here is that the game companies are actively attempting to block hacked hardware from connecting to the official game networks, which is an avenue of deterrent not available on the open Internet.
I should add the disclaimer here that I'm cheerfully and knowingly oversimplifying the discussion, since there are several software-only exploits for all the current game consoles that would allow one to play homebrew or copied code with various degrees of success.

I heard that SWG sucks now because of TNG I believe, correct me if I'm wrong, and that it pretty much lost it's player base. Has anything changed? Is it worth going back to? I've never played it. I hear anyone can be a jedi now? Can anyone list the pros and cons? Nos? You still playing? My take? I tried it for 1st time a few months back after playing vid games for years, then Warcraft, then Lotro. Ugly as hell and I did not feel it was very 'user friendly' when it came to picking up quests etc.
Ugly as hell is a realistic opinion from my perspective. The quest pickup stuff is no doubt more attributable to me not taking the time to really learn the game. I think I got to 20 or so.

| | Hi, I am considering trying the LOTRO trial. I followed the EU site where you can only select to download the client from websites. I don't trust the download manager in Firefox to get 7.5GB without a disconnect, so I wonder if there are any official torrents to get anywhere?
Google turned up sites like piratebay, but I will probably acquire keyloggers and viruses as well from sites like that.

The word "steal" implies that somebody (usually the original owner) no longer has whatever is stolen. That's clearly not correct, because he still has his idea. As do the rest of us.
It has therefore not been stolen.
